Stornoway - The largest settlement on the Isle of Lewis
This viking settlement is the only town in the Outer Hebrides and comforts along the natural harbour and stand out to be a busy town. Its also the administrative centre for the island and also a commercial capital with loads of services and facilities which you won't expect from such a small town. The place is also the birthplace of several famous people including the explorer Alexander Mackenzie, for whom the Mackenzie River was named in Canada. You can find an array of shops, pubs, hotels, restaurants, inns and other places to make sure you have a great time out in this town.
Stornoway also hold few other attractions to look for, including the An Lanntair arts centre located in the Old Town Hall. Along with that do visit the ruins of St. Columbia Church where you can see the grave slabs of Robert Macleod the 7th clan chief of Scotland and his daughter.
